A Domino’s pizza driver was attacked Wednesday evening near the Pensacola Naval Air Station.

About 7:30 p.m., Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a robbery call at 460 Hyacinth Drive in the Stoddert Place apartment complex, said Sgt. Mike Ward, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

A Phoenix-area CiCi’s Pizza manager was robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight at the same shopping mall where police were conducting an investigation into the slaying of a Walmart employee.

Police said the manager was returning from the bank at around 3:45 p.m. Saturday when a man walked up and pointed a gun in his face.

The employee dropped the money bag, and the robber then picked it up, got back in the SUV and drove off.

Police officials are saying the only similarities between the two incidents is the general location.
